Basque traditions

I have created this blog with the aim of sharing worldwide traditions with the help of people from all over the world.
I am from Basque Country, this is the reason I will start talking about Basque traditions and mitology.

  • Our language: Basque
  • Special events: Christmas, Carnivals, Easter, traditional fiestas...
  • Gastronomy: pintxos, txakoli wine, cider, gastronomic societies, agrarian markets, ...
  • Sports: Pelota, aizkolaris, harrijasotzailes...
  • Dance: aurresku, ezpatadantza, sorgin-dantza...
  • Music:  festivals, chorus, music instruments...
  • Poetry: bertsolaris...
The mistery of the Basque language

Kepa Junkera: Bok Espok. A very famous Basque musician.

Here you have two videos. The first is about the origin of the Basque/Euskera and the sencond is about the Basque musician. There it can be seen some typical Basque dances while you listen to the sound of the accordion and the beautiful views of San Juan of Gaztelugatxe.

The last video for today. You can see the marvellous hermitage of San Juan of Gaztelugatxe on the top of the island. It´s one of these places you never get bored to visit once again. There are more than 200 stairs to get to the top but it´s worth to see it and its beautiful views.
